Join the Campaign – Stand Together to Protect the People of Wales
No job, no money, no home – just a few of the realities faced by thousands of people in Wales today as the economic climate continues to bite – and the reason why a number of non-statutory organisations in Wales have joined forces under the Cuts Watch Cymru banner.
With almost 700,000 people in Wales already living beneath the official poverty line, a network of charities and voluntary organisations have come together to call on public and third sector bodies to soften the blow cuts to public spending and welfare reforms are having on the most vulnerable people in our communities.
What is Cuts Watch Cymru aiming to do:
– Cuts Watch Cymru is made up of organisations who are working on the front-line with people who are facing tough times in the economic downturn.
– The network will research how cuts in public spending and services and changes to benefits are impacting on people in Wales.
– Cuts Watch Cymru will use this research to campaign and lobby politicians and policy-makers at the national and local level to ensure they think about who is really paying the price for the recession.
Cuts Watch Cymru’s strengths lie in its partner organisations. Please join the campaign.
